Grant Adult Education

Our Mission:

Education is a lifelong process. Grant Adult Education is committed to providing the community with opportunities for individuals of diverse populations to achieve their personal, educational, and vocational goals and assisting individuals to be responsible and productive members of society.

General Information


Adult classes are open to all persons 18 years of age or older. High school students are concurrently admitted by referral from their high school counselor and administrator.


Come to the counseling office at Campos Verdes or the Skills Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for day classes and 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for evening classes. Adult Education has an open enrollment policy. Most classes are free except for some lab or book fees. Advertised classes may be cancelled if enrollment is inadequate.

Counseling Services

Counselors are available for academic planning and guidance. To enroll call 263-6534 (Skills Center) or 263-6508 (Campos Verdes) for an orientation appointment.

Bookstore/Resource Center

Each site has a bookstore/resource center from which students may purchase books for classes. Cash, Visa, MasterCard or money orders may be used for purchases; checks are not accepted.

Testing Centers

The GED test is given at the Skills Center. Call 263-6534 for more information regarding scheduling and fees.

Free Pre-GED testing is available daily at the Skills Center each Monday for students. There is a $10.00 fee for non-students.

Call for information on FAA, FCC, Microsoft and Novell testing.

Child Care

Parent Participation Preschools are available at Antelope Preschool (348-1410), Rio Linda/Elverta Preschool (991-3064), and Foothill Preschool (331-3924).

SETA Head Start

The SETA Head Start preschool program is located at the Grant Skills Center. Full-day and part-day classes are free to income eligible families. Call 263-3804 or 263-3807 for more information.
